Concord Recreation Academy FAQ 2023

Similar to last year, we will be keeping our age divisions 7 and under, 9 and under, 11 and under and 13 and under.  Please see the age matrix for the program your child should register for.

The incredibly successful Little Kickers program will continue for ages 4 and 5 and we have added a new program for the 3 year olds called Little Buddies.  Five year olds will have the option of playing up in the 7 and under program if the athlete has been involved with soccer in the past, or playing down in the Little Kickers program if they feel more comfortable.

Teams will be based on the amount of coaches we have. As this is a volunteer program, we can only fill teams that have coaches assigned. We have a great Director of Coaching and provide coach training and resources for the duration of the season.

Is there Financial Aid for those who need it?

  • NCSA is committed to providing playing opportunities for all children. We have a robust income/need based financial aid program to help families in need. You'll be given an opportunity to complete a financial aid application during the registration process.  You must follow through with the financial aid application.  You will also be expected to volunteer in some capacity.

Why is it called Academy?

  • "Academy" is a specific kind of coaching philosophy. It is centered around offering an engaging curriculum, guided by an expert of instruction (Coach Gondek), and facilitated through team teaching by volunteers (coaches) who are excited to grow with us. If you've never coached soccer, this approach will equip you in a way that is fun for the players...and you as well! If you have coached, we are excited to have you back. As the game of soccer continues to evolve, we are excited to learn together how we can help our kids grow.

Will the kids play games?

  • Yes. There will be an array of activities for any child who signs up for the Concord Academy. Games have been, and will continue to be, part of the playing experience. In addition to this will be opportunities for us to align with US Soccer by teaching the kids our curriculum that helps them understand the technical, tactical, physical, and psycho-social parts of the game. We will do this while embracing the most important part...HAVING FUN!

  • Little Kickers do not play games.  They participate in soccer development activities.  All other age groups will play games (7U, 9U, 11U and 13U).
